Social Media Marketing Internship
I was lucky enough to obtain an internship with a growing local boutique in Southlake/Roanoke, Texas, named Kiki LaRue. I was responsible for posting on all of our social media platfroms, incluidng instagram, facebook, twitter, pinterest, and snapchat. I created content and posted at least 20 posts per day across all platforms, and analyzed the performance of each post, as well as reacting and responding to customer's comments and questions.
This internship was an extremely valuable experience for me because it has taught me how influencial this marketing technique is, and how each post and conversation with a customer can directly impact the perception of your brand.

For this project, my group and I decided to focus on the challenges facing the grocery department and the possible solutions to those challenges.

We discussed the current state of the grocery department. We focused on the growing target market of millennial and hispanic consumers.

There is always risk involved in the introduction of new products. However, to lower this risk, we suggested careful analysis of the online presence. By watching the growth of the social media following, and by conducting further surveys, Target will be able to decide on how they will proceed.

For this project, my group and I decided to focus on the challenges facing the grocery department and the possible solutions to those challenges.
Target Challenge
In December 2015, I was part of a team that won first place in the Target Challenge. Each group that participated was prompted to focus on a department within Target, and to look for challenges and prepare solutions to those challenges. My group and I chose to focus on the grocery section. We found that the brand was not marketing effectively to their new target market and there is not enough traffic to the grocery sections in the stores. In order to solve these problems, we created a new product and online presence in order to draw traffic to the grocery deparment within the stores.

Brand Extension
For a brand development class, we were assigned to either re-brand or create a brand extension for an existing brand. We chose to extend onto Banana Republic to incorporate the growing plus-size market. I acted as a mediatior for team communication, and put each of the separate assignments together, as well as the final presentation. As a team, we created a product mix, story boards, and a logo that matched the current brand image of Banana Republic, as to create a cohesive look throughout the brand. We also conducted thorough research into the growing need for plus-size clothing, the target market for Banana Republic, their brand position, and so on.

Indigo Cosmetics
For my introductory class into the digital retailing program, we were assigned a project in which we would create a brand and an entire online website to sell our brand's products. We chose to use the Magento platform, which allowed me to develop the skills to use and understand the Magento program. We chose to create a cosmetics company because of the wide range of products, and it was a product category each of the team members was interested in. Each team member was responsible for a product category. I was the team leader, and was responsible for designing the Home Page, Navigation organization, and ensuring all of the products was posted properly and was able to purchase easily.
